Swadlincote Police say they have dismantled a shelter in Church Gresley used by youths for smoking and drinking.
The town's Safer Network Team have posted photos on their Facebook page of them taking it apart at Tunnel Woods.
And they say they will be taking steps to make sure it does not re-appear.
South Derbyshire District Council will be coming in to clean the mess up.
Police are keen to stop groups gathering together during the current Coronavirus crisis.
Swadlincote SNT posted on Saturday: "Over the past few days we have received multiple reports of a shelter in Tunnel Woods, Church Gresley and groups of youths smoking/drinking there.
"This afternoon we have attended and dismantled the shelter along with a hammock.
"The clean team at SDDC have been notified to clear the mess up which has been left behind.
"Patrols will be completed around the area to ensure the shelter doesn't re-appear."
