Swadlincote Police were called to Newhall Park last night (Friday) after reports of anti-social behaviour and youths breaking Covid-19 rules.

A post on the town's Safer Neighbourhood Team Facebook page reminds parents that this area is still in Tier 3 when it comes to restrictions over gathering in large groups.

Their post reads: "Safer Neighbourhood Team have attended Newhall Park after receiving reports of youths drinking alcohol, causing Anti-Social Behaviour.

"On attendance, there were groups of 10 youths together, and several smaller groups breaching Covid 19 regulations.

"Details have taken and they will be dealt with accordingly.

"We will be patrolling the parks throughout the night and over weekend.

"Parents ask yourselves: Are my children drinking alcohol on the park and causing Anti-Social Behaviour!

"We need to stick to the regulations to come out of Tier 3, and make Swadlincote safe for everyone."
