Swadlincote Police say they have served up 'karma' to car thief after towing away a vehicle in Woodville.

The BMW was stolen from Derby in March while the driver was making a food delivery.

But the vehicle was found with false plates some 15 miles away and almost two months later.

Police arranged for the car to be loaded on a truck on Wednesday.

And Swadlincote Safer Neighbourhood Team posted the following on their Facebook page.

They wrote: "Does anyone have the number for a taxi?

"While trying to deliver food in Derby at the beginning of March our victim's car was stolen by some 'Cherub', who clearly couldn't afford the fare home.

"Today we've delivered a serving of Karma to our unsuspecting thief, having located the car parked up on false plates in Woodville.

"Don't worry though, we'll be expecting them to pay for this 'take away'!
