Swadlincote Police say they will be checking on drivers and parked cars around schools in the area on Monday morning.

And they will also be carrying out speed checks at the same time.

A post on the Swadlincote Safer Neighbourhood page explained that local officers still see motoring offences as a priority in the area.

The message reads: "It's now nearly a month since kids have been back at school, so we thought we'd take the opportunity to give a reminder about parking and driving around our area's schools before Monday morning.

"We will be continuing our patrols at start and finish times, so if you see us, give us a wave!

"Most importantly though, we ask that you drive and park safely and considerately.

"We are also continuing with our speed checks on areas where this has been highlighted as a priority problem."
