Swadlincote MP Heather Wheeler has been appointed as UK Trade Envoy to Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam.

The Member of Parliament for South Derbyshire made the announcement on social media this week.

She said: "This is an exciting and unique point in time to promote British interests and businesses.

"I look forward to exploring the opportunities and working to develop trade and investment.

"Making sure British companies take every opportunity to export and invest in Vietnam and vice versa."
