Police Seize Vehicles In Raid On Bungling Criminal In Overseal After False Plates Were Spotted

By Graham Hill 17th Jul 2020

Police have raided a site in Overseal and seized two cars believed to have been involved in rural crime in the area.

Swadlincote Police say they were alerted to a vehicle that may have been using false number plates.

And one giveaway was that the lazy criminal had not even matched the two plates to the same vehicle.

Further investigations meant they found two cars and evidence of crime and the use of cloned plates.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.

Swadlincote's Safer Neighbourhood Team posted on their Facebook site to reveal the find which happened on Thursday evening.

Their message reads: "How many number plates does one car need?

"Last night the team were alerted to a vehicle in the area that may have been showing cloned number plates.

"The Bat duo located said vehicle in Overseal, insecure and with a variety of differing number plates inside, along with other items suggesting this vehicle had been used in crime.

"The pair were joined by Bully which is when the decision to take not just the one, but two cars from that location was made.

"The trio were satisfied that both cars are involved in crime and in particular rural crime in the area.

"Here's a few snaps of some of the items found in the cars along with a couple of photos showing that our lacklustre criminal didn't even manage to match the front and rear plates.

"If our latest entrepreneur would like to reclaim their vehicles, keys or phone then please get in touch.

"If not, then don't worry, Bully has a special prize lined up for you later! The investigation is ongoing."
