Police car rammed in early hours Woodville incident
Two men were arrested when a police car was rammed after officers stopped a stolen vehicle in Woodville.
The incident happened in the early hours of this morning (Saturday) after police noticed a vehicle on the road without any insurance.
The men in the stolen car fled from the scene but did not get very far and are now in custody.
Swadlincote's Safer Neighbourhood Team explained what happened.
They posted: "In the early hours of this morning, SNT officers attempted to stop a vehicle that was showing no insurance on Moira Road, Woodville.
"On stopping it, the vehicle subsequently rammed them twice before the occupants made off on foot.
"The vehicle was displaying false number plates and was a stolen vehicle.
"With help from our response team, two males were arrested nearby and transported to custody where enquiries are ongoing.
"If you have any information regarding this incident, please contact us quoting 21*209471."
