Online Festival Fans Warned To Beware Of Scam Artists Targeting Sausage & Cider Event

Organisers of this weekend's online version of the Derbyshire Sausage & Cider Festival have warned fans to beware of being scammed.

With the Festival unable to go ahead at Catton Hall due to the Coronavirus outbreak, there will be an online version this Saturday.

A number of bands have been lined up to appear via the Festival's Facebook page.

But the organisers, Swadlincote-based James Dean Events, says a number of fake pages have appeared and could ask you for money to see the artists.

A post reads: "We have noticed in the past 24 hours a number of fake pages and events popping up pretending to be us.

"It's highly likely we are being targeted by scam artists.

"They often do this, then try to trick people into giving bank details by asking people to purchase the live feed.

"Please note: Our online festival this weekend is 100 per cent FREE! Do not pay for access to the online event.

"ONLY watch it on our Facebook page or Youtube channel.

"Please be vigilant and look out for our official links.

"It's a real shame we have to post this but we want everyone to be safe online.

"We have reported this to Facebook. We are really looking forward to engaging with you all on Saturday."

Among the bands set to appear are tribute acts featuring the songs of Phil Collins, Robbie Williams, Queen and Foo Fighters - the event starts at 2pm and full details are HERE: Derbyshire Music Festival
