The mother of a teenager who died following a stabbing in Swadlincote last week has paid tribute to her 'beautiful' son.
A murder investigation was launched following the death of 17-year-old Benjamin Orton following an incident in an alleyway at the side of the Odeon cinema, in Coppice Side, Swadlincote.
Officers were called to reports of a serious assault, just before 10.40pm on Saturday, June 12. Benjamin had suffered stab wounds and sadly died at the scene despite attempts to save him.
Benjamin's friend was also found with serious injuries which are potentially life changing. He was taken to hospital where he remains in stable condition.
Amanda, Benjamin's mum, said: "I feel lost for words. We still feel so shocked and I keep expecting him to just walk back through the door.
"Benjamin was my beautiful, beautiful boy. He was so loving, intelligent, and sweet, but really funny and cheeky too.
"I always thought he could have been a comedian.
"Benjamin was very popular, and I've loved hearing stories from his friends of how they could talk to him about anything. He was a good listener and he was loved so much."
A spokesperson for Derbyshire Police said: "Three teenage boys, all from the local area, have been charged in relation to the investigation.
"Two boys aged 17 and 16 years old have each been charged with murder and attempted murder.
"A 17-year-old boy has been charged with assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice.
"We are unable to name the boys for legal reasons due to their ages.
"Officers would still like to hear from anyone with information who hasn't yet come forward to contact us.
"You can submit information directly to our investigation team HERE.
