A motorist drove from Kidderminster to Swadlincote - only to have the car seized.

Swadlincote Police spotted the vehicle when it was illegally parked on High Street.

But the driver had a committed a string of other offences and was not allowed to make the 55 mile journey back to Worcestershire.

Swadlincote's Safer Neighbourhood Team Facebook page explained: "A good result today, Pcso Robbins and Kerri spotted a vehicle on double yellows just off High Street.

"Turns out, along with dodgy parking, the driver had no licence or insurance and had driven all the way from Kidderminster.

"PC Trussell ensured the vehicle did not get to drive back and was seized. Driver reported for the offences."
