Granville Academy in Woodville has issued an apology to nearby residents after the school's alarm went off on Friday night.

The Burton Road-based Academy posted a message on social media on Saturday morning to explain the disturbance.

It reads: "Apologies to all our local neighbours who were disturbed by our alarm going off last night.

"We will circulate an emergency contact number to our immediate neighbours to avoid this happening again in the future."
