Trapped Woman Freed From Car After Collision On A511 Just Outside Woodville

A woman was trapped in her car following a collision on the A511 at Boundary.

Fire crews from Ashby and Swadlincote were called to the incident which involved two cars this evening (Monday) at the junction of Heath Lane.

The fire crews had to remove the roof of one of the cars to free the trapped woman.

She was then assessed by an East Midlands Ambulance Service crew.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service gave full details of the incident on their website: "Call received to a road traffic collision involving two cars with a person trapped

"One female person trapped by injuries.

"Fire crew removed roof of saloon car to aid extrication of the trapped casualty.

"Casualty released from vehicle by fire crews and being assessed by EMAS crew.

"Crews using absorbent pads to contain oil spillage."
