Another stabbing has been reported in Swadlincote this evening (Tuesday) - with a 19-year-old airlifted to hospital.

Three people have been arrested after a man was allegedly stabbed.

But Derbyshire Police say they cannot confirm if the incident is connected to the death of 17-year-old Benjamin Orton who died in Swadlincote on Saturday night.

Officers were called to Eureka Park in the town shortly before 8pm to reports of an injured man.

The 19-year-old man was airlifted to hospital where he remains.

Officers arrested three people shortly afterwards – two men and one woman.

They remain in custody and will be questioned.

A spokesperson for Derbyshire Police said: "We are not able to confirm at this time if this case is linked to the tragic death of 17-year-old Benjamin Orton in the town on Saturday evening during an incident which also saw a 20-year-old man injured.

"Detectives are appealing for witnesses to what happened in Eureka Park this evening.

"Although several people have come forward, we believe there are other passers-by who have yet to contact us.

"In particular, two men walking dogs were seen in the park and they may have witnessed something which could help the inquiry.

"Officers will remain at the scene tonight and patrols are being increased."
