Swadlincote Police broke up a group of youths gathered at Midway Community Centre on Friday evening - an issued an invitation to come and get their ball back!

The youths were braking Covid-19 rules by meeting in numbers, and officers are keen to give them a rundown on the latest guidelines.

Swadlincote's Safer Neighbourhood Team's Facebook page gave details of what happened.

The post reads: "A Report of youths congregating at Midway Community Centre this evening.

"On police arrival the youths scarper as quickly as they can, even dropping their chocolate and forgetting their football!

"If you want your football back, just pop by the Police Station and we can issue you some advice about the rules of lockdown in return.

"Officers are on duty throughout the night patrolling our parks and other hotspot areas."
