A man wanted by Swadlincote Police paid the price for being 'nosey' when he ended up in custody.

The man approached the police while a car was being seized in Salisbury Drive.

But he was soon identified as someone wanted in connection with drugs offences.

Swadlincote Safer Neighbourhood Team gave details on their Facebook page.

They posted: "On 30/03/21 whilst 'Batman & Robin' were seizing a vehicle on Salisbury Drive, a wanted male walked up to them being nosey.

"He was soon arrested by SNT officer Rob McGlade for failing to appear for drug related offences committed in Swadlincote, another one charged and remanded."

Swadlincote Police also gave details of other arrests made recently.

They said: "Jordan Burgess was arrested late on the night of 28/03/21 for a theft of a bike.

"After an excellent response from group 4 LPU officers Pc Marriott, Pc Bowyer and Stevens, Burgess was detained on the stolen property.

"He was arrested, charged and remanded, the courts handed a 16-week custodial sentence."

They added: "Whilst out patrolling in Newhall on 28/01/21, Pc Wheldon came across another wanted male who was wanted for three offences committed in Swadlincote. Group 2 LPU officer Pc Hughes charged and remanded the suspect to court. EXCELLENT TEAM WORK FROM SNT AND LPU OFFICERS."
